James Ruse is the owner and president of Rooster
Audio/Visual Services Corp., located in Homewood, Ill.
Started by Ruse in 1998, Rooster is now looking
forward to its fourth year in operation, serving the
Illinois area, which includes southern Wisconsin and
northwest Indiana.
Rooster rents audio, lighting, and video projection
systems for fairs, festivals, and events, as well as
corporate functions, conventions, and trade shows.
Ruse has over 20 years experience in both the music
and professional audio/visual industries.
For 10 years, he worked in sales, marketing and
development with Pro-Audio Manufacturers.
He has been a musician for 24 years, of which he
spent six years as a touring performer and five years as a
guitar, bass, and percussion instructor.
In addition, Ruse spent three years as a hotel
audio/visual director, three years as an audio engineer and
producer, two years as an audio/visual branch general
manager, one year as a hotel operations manager, and one
year as a large retail store manager.
Ruse also has a degree in audio engineering from The
Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts.
Ruse firmly
believes that customer service and equipment quality,
without compromise, are the keys to a successful event.
His industry experience and technical background give
Rooster a complete understanding of what is needed to manage
any event.
Among the
audio/visual equipment and systems Rooster rents are
microphones and public address (PA) systems to large screen
image magnification.
Rooster is also an authorized dealer for sales of
professional audio/visual equipment, supplies, and
accessories.
Such items include LCD projectors and mixers, as well
as batteries and cables.
Although
Rooster started with small special events such as a Little
League Opening Day and Championship Game, and Summer Block
Parties, it quickly grew into a Park District deed signing
(featuring Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr.) and a United Way
charity golf outing. This past year, Rooster provided a
large screen IMAG system at Tinley Park’s Oktoberfest at
the New World Music Theatre, with an average attendance of
80,000.
In February 2001, Rooster provided audio/visual for
the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitor Bureau’s 9th
Annual Festivals and Events Workshop and Expo.
Rooster
staff members have degrees in audio engineering, broadcast
technology, marketing, sales and computer science; over
eight years in hospitality audio/visual management; and they
have been published or quoted in Sound &
Communications, Gig, Radio World, Pro Sound News, and
Broadcast Engineering magazines.
